Seth was baptized on Saturday.
I always imagined this day to be filled with family and friends. When he was a baby and I thought of his baptism day I envisioned that of his cousins, where the whole family gathered around to support him in this decision.
It was quite the opposite. Jeremy baptized him, his sisters and baby brother watched, his best friend and family was there and my Mom and Dad were able to join us via Skype. It was small, it was perfect.
We missed our family, he missed his cousins and aunts and uncles, he missed his other set of Grandparents. But, we were all together and tried to make the day as special as possible for him.
I am so very proud of him for making this decision to be baptized. This day was a good reminder for all of us. Life may not always go the way we have envisioned. The important part is to always remember what really matters. What really matters is our family is together and Seth had a great day.
