Staycation: Mission Completed

Oh my what a week. Our staycation was a huge success and we are already planning next year!

At the beginning of the summer the kids and I made a summer bucket list. Full of things we wanted to do this summer. I am happy to report we checked off a lot of the list! We went to the Inner Space Caverns – if you live in the Austin area and haven’t gone yet, it is worth it. So much fun and a great escape from the heat! We had ice cream from Dairy Queen BEFORE dinner and totally on a whim.

After swim lessons were done on Thursday, went to the Children’s Museum, always a favorite with my bunch. We then headed down to Big Top Candy Shop and finally the food trucks for dinner. Of course it wouldn’t be a trip downtown without a visit to the big Whole Foods for some gelato. The hardest part of the day was deciding which candy to choose!!

Friday was a bit more of a relaxed day filled with swimming, picnicking and building a huge fort (directions and post to come this week).

Saturday was an out to breakfast, Chuck-e-Cheese,and first baseball game kind of day.

We all had such a good time. There were some fights, but they were minimal. We just had a blast being together and learning more about our town and the fun things there are to do here. We are all so excited to do it again.

Yea! So glad y’all had a good time. I hope we visit Austin again next summer–really love it and seeing you just made it that much better. Of course, now we know we’ll see each other at Blissdom! Hooray!
