There They Go…

Time marches on, and I am so glad it does. The pain of last week has faded into the background and we are going on with our lives.

The big kids started school today. While I type this, they are getting back into their routine. Learning about their new teachers, meeting new friends and learning about what they will be doing this year.

They are both getting so big, yet at the same time are just my babies.

Seth is in 3rd grade. I loved 3rd grade. My teacher was Mrs. Petrochi..she was old, and strict, but she was really nice. I can’t believe my baby boy is a big 3rd grader. He wouldn’t let me walk with him to class and fought me when I gave him a hug and a kiss at the bottom of the stairs. *sigh* He is growing up too fast.

Miss Amelia is in 1st grade. To say I have a lot of apprehension is an understatement. Seth had such an awful time in 1st grade here, so I am very nervous. Her teacher seems very nice though. She was pretty sad when she found out that her 3 best friends from her class last year, and a friend from church were all in the same class – and she wasn’t. But, when we went in last week to meet her teacher, she found out she is sitting right next to her friend that used to live across the street from us, but recently moved. They were both pretty excited to see each other.

I hope and pray they are loved at school. I hope their teachers understand and realize what a gift they are given, and take care of my babies for me. I pray this is a wonderful school year for both of them…just like last year was.

They are both ready to go and oh so excited. And I am too. While I miss them when they are gone, I really love having time with just the two little ones. Libby will have preschool and gymnastics, and they both will get to have lots of time with Mama.

And when we all make it through this week, to celebrate we will play play play at the Lego Kid’s Fest! What a great way to end the first week of school. I just hope I survive without my two biggest helpers and chicks in the nest.

They’re so cute. I hope this year of first grade is a lot better. And I already miss having my big kids around to help with the buckling and unbuckling in the car!

I love the faces…you can SO tell their different personalities with their facial expressions…Seth is full of fire and little Amelia is a little apprehensive but will just woo her teacher with her sweet personality. So different but yet so much alike..it will be a great year for both of them and when this school year is over, we will be home!!! kisses and hugs to all..
