Today you are 10. Two whole hands, a decade. Today marks 10 years of my rainbow, my baby that blessed me in the stormiest part of my life. My sweet boy.

You are fierce, headstrong, determined, quick witted, and so sweet. You have a tender heart, and a vivid imagination. People flock to you because of your energy and personality. You are fun, adventurous and funny.

Life is not easy for you though. You have your struggles, and this year I have seen tremendous growth. You fight to be better, to do better, to do the right thing. You question everything, and while that can be very frustrating, it is such a great quality. As you continue to question things and find the answers, you will become a force to be reckoned with. Once you know something, you are unwavering in the truth you have found. I know this because I have seen it time and time again.

I love watching your mind work. You think outside the box, look for loopholes, find ways to make things work to help you and make your life better and easier. You are so creative in your thinking and actions. Whether it’s making a stop motion video, a maze from moving boxes, or creating a game with your siblings, your mind is always working.

Watching you grow up into a young man is one of the greatest joys of my life. You brought me joy, laughter, and hope when I thought all was lost. You make me laugh every day. You are swasome (sweet+awesome=swasome; from the Seth dictionary)

I love you my sweet Seth. You are my heart and I am so grateful you are mine.

Happy birthday Bub.

I love what you write about this boy. It’s spot on. Just know that research shows that kids who question and argue young are less likely to give in to peer pressure later. I repeat this over and over to myself some days.
I sure do love that boy and his sibs!!
